ULIN HOTEL

Hotel ULIN is located on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Albanian coast, in Borsh. It was a pleasure to collaborate on this project with the professor and one of our favorite architects Artan Raca (from Architectural Studio “Raca”).

Although often the individual requirements of tourists may be slightly different, when it comes to enjoying a summer vacation near the coast, we are all equal in needing the privacy of an intact sleeping/relaxation space, enjoying nature under the all-encompassing greenery and moreover, enjoy the company they came with. Not coincidentally, this completes the relief of Borshi with many variations in solutions for individual localization of experiences, as much as opportunities for shared group experiences. For this reason, it is important to emphasize that technical solutions should always take into account the facilitation of tourists’ experiences in a special destination such as Borshi.

The positioning of the property is mostly on a flat terrain, as is the rest of the surrounding area. The architecture combines the use of concrete material in the structure of the building, with decorative cladding made of natural stones, interspersed with a network of greenery around the building. The main form used in the composition of the facade is the arch. The arch is not given a circular radius, but in fact we are dealing with a more elliptical, primitive arch form. A more tangible arch form even in nature. The use of arches in this project complements the fluid profile of the exterior structure. Openings along the facade and curved cuts throughout the building help to tie the entire design together, thus presenting a new standard for construction in the Borsh area.
